Dinner Impossible: Beer
Despite his fall from grace, Robert Irvine's Dinner Impossible re-runs live on. The beer episode, recently rerun, captures some of that spontaneous creative culinary spirit we find on Top Chef or the original Iron Chef. (Irvine is drafted to pair a dish to each of five beers for 100 master beer tasters @ Anheiser-Busch.)

Which 5? Bud Light, Mick Ultra, Busch, Busch Light, and Bud? Who can tell the difference?

re: Phaedrus
funny.
Actually, there're 5 "craft beers" premiered, a couple of which are available AmberBock(TM...heh) among them.
I'm not a fan of the show in general, but half-watching this episode found myself mildly-intrigued: especially considering the condescension espoused by participants on Top Chef: "Chicago" vis a vis beer or beer-pairings.
My only criticism of Robert's menu is that it weighed heavily upon British staples like the trifle and roast beast.
And whassup with taping only the womens' reviews at the end? Were the beer connoissieur menfolk too inarticulate?
Ack...and gotta love all the plebes raising their plates to their faces to inhale the beer bouquet(?) of the dishes...c'mon...a little knowledge in the wrong hands...

re: aelph
I was thinking the same about the TC Chicago snubbing of beer.
Was this a brand new episode of DI? People on all over the web, especially the beer advocates, seem to be discussing it for the first time. I had assumed it was an old ep but it seems to been released after his fall.
