i think we'll be staying in or around downtown. So walking or short cab ride in terms of

Shiro's is good for downtown. A short cab ride to Fremont would be Kappo but a reservation is a must as seating is very limited. Chiso is also a good alternative downstairs.

I had dinner at Shiro's earlier this week and while it was hardly bad ..it was also not stellar. I'd heard Shiro had retired .. and I broke my #1 rule of not sitting at the bar but still it was less than it has been in the past ... for 1/2 the price I'd suggest Fuji Sushi in the International District
