Fresh rice noodles (cheung fan?) in Flushing - now available at night
I walked by Corner 28 last night around 8:30 (alright, maybe I stopped and had a Peking duck bun, but only one, I swear) and noticed that the window where they make the fresh rice noodles to order in the mornings is now at night. It was a different woman making the noodles (thank goodness she's not working 14 hour days), but the process was the same -- choose your filling and she makes it on the spot in a small oven).
Now they do it, when I'm out of town. I'd walk past every time I was in Flushing for dinner, hoping for those noodles, and had to settle for the duck. Although "settle" is the wrong word... sometimes if I was still hungry, I'd get three of those beauties, and eat them in the downstairs section, and they were wonderful. You could get ten for $7.50 and have a Peking duck meal as good as some twice the price.
