Going to Pitt for friday-saturday. Looking for a few types of places to check out.

1) Need a hip/cool place to take some business clients for dinner. something like morimoto buddakahan in philly/nyc

2) Looking for a good sports bar w/ good food and many TVs

3) Lounge with bottle service

Also are there any good districts to hop from bar to bar

These places need to be in area of the Mellon Arena. Thanks all for your help

#1 - Seviche - Get the Fire & Ice from the seviche bar

#2 - Guess it's not in the Mellon Arena area, but Jerome Bettis' place supposedly has a gazillion TVs and allegedly decent food. Don't really do sports bars, so can't tell.

#3 - Maybe Nine on Nine or Cafe Zao might fit the bill, but others might know better. I'm going strictly on what I've read/heard about those two. Haven't been yet.

Six Penn Kitchen's rooftop bar might be worth a visit, if the weather is decent, A little further down in the Strip, Kaya might be your speed, and if you can make it to the South Side (Carson St.), Dish may be a good option for #3.

1. Seviche is a good choice. Eleven also within a reasonable walking distance.
2. Sports Rock. Food is typical sports bar, but you can have control over your own table's TV in addition to all the big screens.
3. Too old for clubbing, but I understand Prive and Altar Bar both offer it.

I must be too old, because I totally misread "lounge with bottle service." I read it as a restaurant with a nice bar/lounge area where you could get some good wine. Crap, I'm so unhip.

2. sports rock

3. elixir on e. carson

"in the mellon arena area" is pretty general

1. Soba is a good choice, but Red Room is also very cool, both close to city. Seviche in my opinion is not a hip dinner place, but more a tapas and drinks. Eleven is fine, Nine on Nine is not what I'd call chic and Nakame is fun, but it's hibachi and I don't think that's what you're looking for. Actually, I have the perfect place... Dish on the s.side, really small and the two owners are from NYC this place is one of the best reviewed in the city.

2. Sports Rock is fine. Jerome Bettis is also good. It's a bit more upscale sportsbar (oxymoron) than Sports Rock or some of the other places on the north shore.

3. Club scene is not that great in Pittsburgh. Prive' is probably a good choice in the strip district. It has VIP sections with bottle service and I think on Friday's they have this good special for buy one get one. I think I got two bottles of Ketel One there a few weeks ago for pretty cheap.

1) hmmm...I really don't think we have anything like buddakhan here? I read the above reviews. Dish is one of my favorite restauants, but it's cozy and vibey, not sceney and beautiful like morimoto or buddakhan? Close to Mellon Arena? I guess i go with Nine on Nine and Eleven. Capital Grille...while a chain, has a very popular happy hour and their steak is pretty good (also very close to mellon arena)

2) Sports Rock (Close to Mellon Arena)
3) Prive or Altar Bar (South Side)

Bar hopping districts are:
South Side - more college bar crawl style
Shadyside (Ellworth ave and Walnut street) - young professionals, martinis are more the style on Ellworth ave than Jaegarbombs in South Side.
