Salt baked soft shell crab

My boyfriend and I dabble in San Gabriel Valley restaurants; we're fond of Chung King and Best Szechuan, Green Village and a couple other places. Recently he's been telling me about his favorite dish in NY Chinatown, salt-baked soft shell crab. I've seen salt baked squid around, but not salt baked soft shell crab. Now that soft shell crab season is coming, does anyone have a recommendation as to where we might find this dish, preferably in the SGV or on the east side?

  1. I think Regent Seafood in Chinatown has that, regardless - their soft shelled crab is very good. Post other places if you have found, thanks

    1. Hop Li's downtown used to have it...they show it on their Arcadia location menu (appetizers), tho have not tried it there. it you like their spicy salted prawns you'll like the soft shell crab.
