Westwood - Friday night, decent food and booze?

I need someplace within a few blocks of Broxton Ave. (The Mystery Bookstore) for a crowd of writers to eat something good enough (doesn't have to be great, but will ideally be better than mediocre) and wash it down with plenty of drinks, we're writers, after all.

Went to Napa Grille after the last of these things and it was, well, okay. But is there somewhere better?

Well, there aren't a lot of places in Westwood that have significantly better food than Napa -- but for good snacks and drinks, I'd head to the bar at Palomino. There's also the W, but it's a bit of a hike from Broxton.

Those two are truly the only options in that area for what you're looking for. I think Palomino does a better happy hour for a large group. Save the W for a smaller group if you have the same restrictions again.
