Ptcha anywhere in Manhattan Sunday?

OK. So the 2nd Ave Deli is closed for Passover. So sad. But where else can I help my 87 year old Dad find ptcha in Manhattan on Sunday?

  1. Maybe Russ & Daughters? I'd give them a call and ask.

    1. Any of the glatt kosher restaurants that could have that will be closed because Sunday is the last day of Passover - not because of Passover, but because it is a Sabbath-type observant day.
I am surprised anyone even makes that to serve. My mother used to make it for my father, but a very old fashioned dish.

I am amazed! My MOTHER used to tell me it was an old-fashioned dish!

I'm not sure what you mean by "not because of Passover." The fact is, the first two days and the last two days of Passover are observant days, so glatt kosher restaurants must close. The 4 days in-between (Chol Hamoaid) are non-observant, and it is permissable for those restaurants to be open during those days as long as their kitchens and menus are kosher for Passover. The major problem for kosher delis is that cured meats and fish are not kosher for Passover. So, they close for the entire 8 days.
