I've been playing with the agar and calcium combination but haven't yet had success. I also haven't been successful locating a recipe for the proportions on the web. Does anyone know the ratio of agar and calcium in water/product?

I think the agar agar/calcium combination is actually a sodium alginate/calcium combination, right? Maybe that's part of your problem? Just a guess...
