I Heard They Have Chinese Food In SF?

Looking for good Chinese with straightforward "Robert Lauriston" flavor and perhaps a bit of "Gary Soup" waggishness before Beach Blanket Babylon show. Serving alcohol, please. Is there anything decent and walkable? I am so tired of the rain, carry me home to my old San Francisco roots. There is no decent Chinese food in Portland. Zip. Sigh. Make that lots of alcohol.

I think R&G Lounge on Kearny will fill your bill. Also Great Eastern on Jackson. I do question your comment about Portland Chinese food. Yes, Chinatown Portland in downtown sucks, but their is some very good stuff in the new Chinatown around S.E. Division St. and 82nd.

I like Z&Y (Sichuan). It's about five blocks away. I think they have beer but I'm not sure.

If you want a full bar, there's Henry's Hunan, about six blocks.
