Late Reservation at French Laundry

So I lucked out with a 9 pm reservation at TFL. I'm really looking forward to it, but again its at 9. So my question is is there fun/good to do in napa/yountville prior to res, or should we just go directly to the restaurant?

I think you should take an afternoon / early evening nap. You'll likely be there well after midnight.

That's a tough one, as it's kind of sleepy there, and aside from restaurants, there's not much to do between 7-9 PM. Also, you will probably not want to fill up on any drinks & snacks ahread of time. That being said, Hurley's down the street is fun for drinks and may be the only place that's lively at that hour.
