If you had to choose a burger in Palo Alto

I have a dilemma. I can't make up my mind and I can't eat lunch twice in one day. If you had to choose between the Palo Alto Creamery or The Counter (both in Palo Alto) which would you choose and why? Thanks for steering me in the tastier direction!

I think The Counter's your best bet.

I would probably go for the Creamery - it's a more traditional hamburger. Counter burgers are huge and messy, though I do like their sweet potato fries.

I completely disagree with MartyS about Kirk's. I was very excited to eat there, thinking it would be something excellent/old fashioned like the Apple Pan in LA, and was sadly disappointed. My burger was overcooked and tasted like char and gas. I have not been back

Kirks 361 S. California Ave Palo Alto, CA 94306 650-326-6519

Hands down the best Steakburgers in town. Good condiment table.
Been in the area since just after WW-II with several locations. Is in Cupertino on De Anza Bldv just past Hwy-85 and I think the Store in Town and Country on Embarcadero is still therfe even with this shopping center in a mess

Kirks moved to Town and Country, and it sucks (now and has been for a few years).

Marty thanks for the information. I had never heard of Kirks, they seem like they are worth at least checking out. Thanks to everyone else for their two cents.
