i'll be visiting phoenix next week and although most of my visit (and meals are planned), i'll be arriving around 9pm saturday and would appreciate any help you can provide for casual dining near the airport. thank you all in advance

    I'm assuming you will be picking up a rental car. Unfortunately, there is little near the rental car facility that is open late. Which direction are you heading in after getting your car? It might be easier to suggest something along the way rather than right by the airport.

      i will have a rental car. i'll be spending the night at the embassy suites near the airport, so staying within the vicinity (say a 15 minute drive) of the airport seems best. thanks again for your help.

        There are actually two Embassy Suites by the airport -- one at the west end along 24th St. and the other at the east end along 44th St.

            Neither location has much that is open late. A drive of 3-5 miles will be necessary.

            Here are some good places that will be serving until midnight or later on a Saturday night.

            Switch -- Sandwiches, salads, & full bar in Midtown

            Fate -- Asian Fusion at north end of Downtown

            Fez -- Vaguely North African theme, but not really a Moroccan restaurant; emphasis on flat-bread pizzas, burgers, etc.

            Delux -- Great burgers and salads in the Biltmore district

            Christopher's Fermier Brasserie -- Offers a small wine bar menu after 10; The daily special is usually marked down to half price at that time.

              I would add two to the list:

              1) Wally's Pub @ 44th St / Camelback (http://www.wallyspub.com/
              )2) Fenix - I believe they serve until 2am on weekends (http://fenixeatery.com/index.php

              )
