Supersol does it again

Supersol of Lawrence is selling this week kosher for passover chicken breasts for an astounding low price of $1.69 a pound! Brachs for example is charging $2.59 for whole chickens and over $3 a pound for the chicken breasts! This price is amazing even for non "kosher for passover". I plan on arriving early and loading up my freezer with as much as I can get my hands on. Money in the bank, since I really don’t expect to find it lower any time soon, passover or not!

Went last night, bought all they had (only four family packs) went this morning and bought 6 more family packs (left you one:). Be real careful about parking there, meter maid was there ticketing lots of cars, Fortunately, I fed the meter since I went there with my daughter and we needed some junk food for today’s outing so I expected to spend a few minutes more than my usual quick dash thought the store. Boy is Supersol expensive, $1.99/lb for apples; Brachs had them for 79 cents/lb. However the chicken breasts for $1.69 vs. Brachs $3.49 made the trip worth while. I am debating whether to go for even more.

Only saw a few family packs marked $4.99 last night :(

Did you ask them? They may have had them in the back.

Just saw the Sunday Pennysaver, Supersol is again having the $1.69/lb chicken breasts on sale. I bought 10 family packs so far, I will probably buy another 10 - too good of a price to not take advantage of.

      2. I just used up my supply from last time they were on sale (Chanukah??) right before Pesach. So funny that I'm running to stock up on Pesach itself!
PS I work in Lawrence- wouldn't think of leaving my car for 30 seconds without putting money in! Sometimes I am nervous that they will ticket me as I walk from my car to the muni-meter.

Another item to stock up on is Rokeach Whitefish/Pike jar fish (if you go for jar fish). Brachs is selling them for $1.99 a jar. I bought a gazillion of them last year and it lasted almost a year. I plan on buying 50+ jars this year again. Money in the bank, it wont get any lowerer than that.

            > "If you go for jar fish".

If you don't generally go for jar fish (and I don't), try Noam Gourmet jar fish. It's actually good. (And not on sale, that I know of.)

        2. Finally some good passover cake prices. Gourmet Glatt was selling cakes - buy one get 2 free! So I bought a marble cake, cherry pie and boston cream pie for a total of $4.99 My daughter bought seven layer cake and a bunch of others. I now feel like I am at a hotel and can "fress" like all my fellow jews.

          1. i went last night. they had plenty of packs of chicken breasts. however i didnt realize you were talking about the kind with the bone.

Without the bone (or the skin) would be chicken cutlets.

            2. Went to Brachs tonight and was very disappointed that the price of chicken did not retreat after pesach. I can't figure it out, costs less to buy the chicken fully cooked at the takeout. The price is rock stable $7.99 for a chicken with one side dish. Brachs was charging $2.50/lb for raw chicken or $7.50 for a 3 pound bird - raw and no side dish. Needless to say that I made quick dash over to Supersol, again, to buy more chicken breasts ($1.69/lb!, $3.50/lb at Brachs). This brings it up to 16 family packs that I bought.
