Dogfish Palo Santo Marron

Have to admit I went into this beer skeptical that it was some dopey schtick to have the wood thing going in this beer and that it was some goofy experiment.

I was wrong and blown away by the taste of this one - you taste the vanilla and the wood, just outstanding.

  1. Had one last night at Toronado's DFH NorCal kickoff party. Really enjoyed the Palo Santo Marron. Seemed a bit gimickly at first, but just an awesome beer.

On a side note, I can't express how happy I am that DFH is finally coming to NorCal! Had some Old School last night for the first time, pretty impressive barleywine.

agreed, I also thought it would be a bad gimmick. I was recently very let down by the aprihop and had high expectations.

if you havent had the worldwide stout, you will be absolutely blown away. I think that is their best (or the 90 minute)

red & white too. oak influenced in the best way.

loved the red and white. really didn't care for the worldwide stout. tastes like a really cheap, crappy port.

in that case, call me a fan of really cheap, crappy ports but drinking this on tap down in delaware beach was a true treat to me.

I have 3 bottles of WWS that I "smuggled" from NY a few months ago. I would go as far to say that WWS is the best stout I have ever had. So I guess I too love really cheap, crappy port.

Had a 6 oz glass at the Toronado today. Quite tasty. Reminded me alot of Old Viscosity in that it tasted good, but you really could not classify it. I would definitely have another glass.
