Best Dim Sum in NYC
I know that people always recommend chinatown (Jing Fong, etc.) but in our opinion Cafe Evergreen is the best, and possibly best we've had in the US. Despite the fact that it's on the UES (69th and 1st ave), the food is very refined, service good, and food always consistent. Not quite as much variety as downtown, admittedly. They deliver, too. My wife is from Hong Kong, and dim sum is her favorite food. She loves this place. People may have other places that are their favorites, but I think everyone would agree the food s very good here. Thoughts? And any recommendations on the best authentic won ton mien in Manhattan?

This wknd. I visited China Town in NYC to celebrate the new year. I looked for one of my favorite noodle/Dim sum bakeries, May May on Pell Street only to go online and find out that they closed 2 years ago. I was very sad. They were the suppliers to many stores and restaurants for high quality dim sum. Anyone know a great place to purchase (frozen/fresh togo) dim sum to take home? Location can be in Manhattan or other boroughs.

The dim sum is much more refined than what you'll find in Chinatown, either Manhattan or Flushing. As I said before, it's not the biggest selection, but if you care about quality over quantity, it's really top notch. Even friends from Hong Kong are impressed...
