La Guarecita is a colorful storefront on 23rd Street just a short distance from the Grocery Outlet in San Pablo ...... decided to stop in at lunch time so I wouldn't go into the GO on an empty stomach.
Tried a taco al pastor for $1.25 - got it to go because there is not much room there to eat on the premises. Nicely packed with a charred jalapeno and some roasted onion. the filling was good but not the best I've ever had ... the taco as a whole was quite nice and I'll be back to try some of their other offerings eventually. Not a destination but because I'm a regular shopper at the GO nearby I"ll try something else when I"m in the mood.
the market is smallish but has a pretty good variety and the meat counter looks pretty good.
They had a large display of packaged hot dogs in one of their cases. Also had some chicharrone that looked freshly fried.

Well, I'm going to strongly disagree with you on this one Gordon. I think La Guarecito is a destination ... however not for the tacos but the tortas.

There are a few tables along the window inside between the dairy section and the register. Also some outdoor tables.

I guess I should report about places I stop a lot ... but you know ... just haven't reported lately. However, these are still evergreen.

hmmm.. maybe time to re-visit La Guarecita.

If I'm in that area (not too often), I usually end up at Los Picudos.
