Seattle: Searching for East meets West restaurants

donde Apr 19, 2008 06:12 PM

Marazul was an interesting "fusion" of Latin and Asian flavors, but it's gone. So, wondering: Any other suggestions of "East meets West" restaurants in Seattle?

I assume you're not looking for Asian fusion places like love-it/hate-it Wild Ginger, right? How about Joule, which is Korean-French? I'll be interested what other places people recommend that fit your description.

Ah, Coupage, of course! How is that comparing to Joule these days?

Qube is a possibility. It's Japanese-French. Although it seems it teeters between really bad and tolerable, depending on the business cycle that the restaurant goes through. Is it still in business? When it first opened, it was interesting and the food was alright.

We had a wonderful couple of occasions at Coupage - one of the more compelling & scrumptious menus ive seen in awhile.

Monsoon is great w/ their local/ organic emphasis.

          qube is hanging in there

i used to like the (lunchtime-only) Spice Traders beef (w/ chow fun noodle) at Wild Ginger but they were so inconsistent that i finally gave up
