I'm hoping that someone will be able to help. I'm looking for a place that sells fresh fish on the South Shore (Brossard, St-Lambert, Greenfield Park, Longueuil, St-Hubert) and, if possible, at decent prices (if that's even possible!). For the moment, we're going to Coralli (which we love) but we hate having to cross the Champlain Bridge.

Thanks!

Hmm. It's been a while since I've been there, does anyone know if the Kim Phat in Brossard has a fish counter like the one on Jarry does?

Still haven't been to the Jarry Kim Phat but a couple of months ago the Brossard branch's fish counter was considerably less interesting than the Côte-des-Neige branch's or than Marché Oriental's, for that matter.

Can't vouch for them and not sure how current these all are, but a quick Google search turned up:

Poissonnerie Fraîcheur des Iles
7800, boul. Taschereau, Brossard
450-672-3474

Le Poisson Volant
584, chemin de Saint-Jean, La Prairie (not sure if this is within range for you)
450-444-8821

Fruits de Mer René Marchand Inc
1455, ave Victoria, Saint-Lambert

Not hugely familiar with the geography of the South Shore, so you may also want to check out fish stores in some of the other municipalities listed here:

Good luck!

the Kim Phat in the mall at 8080 Taschereau has a large fish counter with lots of live fish and seafood. I think it's even bigger than the one on Jarry. I've never bought fish there, but everything always looks fresh.

The Kim Phat fish counter on Taschereau is smaller than the one on Jarry, but it's certainly not bad - we were just there last week.

Actually there is only one on Taschereau the other is technically on Panama across form the RTL bus terminal. The Former having the better fish selection, they usually have live tilapia, sometimes eel, crab and shrimp., The former's fish selection isn't always super fresh depends when you go. René Marchand on Victoria blvd, is probably your best bet, they have a good variety and their stuff is pretty fresh and the staff there is knowledgeable, prices a little high.

I was told the one on Panama was closing, as I believe it's the older of the two. Could be wrong about that... I was referring to the one on Taschereau itself (in the shopping centre with Foo Wor)

I just asked, since I live very close by(I always considered their Panama location, as being on Taschereau). Kim Phat is closing both of their Brossard locations, so they can open one bigger brand-new location, very close to where the Panama location is now.
