I've walked by this place a 100 times and never went in until KK posted they have Taiwanese high mountain oolong. I've read someone's blog that they regard that tea as the best tea ever.

I don't know much about tea, but I drink tons of it. I love oolong so ok I'll try it. It's a family operation. Wife helped us, then the husband helped us. They have lots of teas: fragrant, white, green, long, black. Clay tea pots, cups, accessories, dried kumquats, etc.

Since I guess we looked like buyers we got to try a moderate pricey oolong - Tung Ting Green Premium Oolong ($15). We sat around a small table and the Owner brewed us a tiny pot of it. We enjoyed it very much.

We ended up getting Ah-Lee peak Green Premium Oolong for $27.99 (box is pretty big, inside is a plastic bag vacuumed seal w/ a fistful of tea)+ a bamboo scoop thingie $1.50. Our total $29.61. They have a minimum amount of $10 to use credit cards.

Nice, friendly people. They seem to know their teas and he said they get them from Taiwan (he owns plantations there), not China.

My request for Taiwanese High Mtn Oolong:

Green oolong? what does that mean? Is it green or oolong? I thought green was unroasted and oolong was roasted a short to medium amount of time? is this in between?

Oolong is a medium roasted tea something between black and green tea. There are degrees of roasting of the tea. So a "green" oolong may well be a lighter roasted tea.

Recently on my cousin return from Mainland China I got some high mountain tea from Fukian on the mainland. A medium roasted tea. Very refreshing.

You can tell how much it was roasted by smelling, feeling and looking at it. Of course you will know when you taste it.

Since it was gift I have no idea the price.
