  1. It's actually in Encino. I'm curious about it as well.

    1. and to not confuse the issue any further, but Natural Gourmet that was on Van Nuys Blvd., just north of Magnolia, is now being converted to Pampa Grill, and it IS in sherman Oaks. Not sure of opening date, however.

      1. I saw this coming up a while ago.I would also like to hear about this place.Churrasco is taking over the world! Hopefully it will be the valley's answer to a Brasa Brasil, or even better.

        1. I am a meat lover, and I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am that a good Brazilian BBQ place finally opened in the Valley. I mean, there was Rio, but let's be honest, no one went there for the food. My wife and I went to Sampa Grill on Saturday with another couple. It wasn't packed, by any stretch of the imagination, but there was a surprisingly number of diners for a place that had only been opened for a couple of weeks. The person who sat me was very friendly, as was all the staff, in particular the meat carvers were very attentive. The salad bar was good, and unlike Fogo de Chao, they also have a good selection of hot dishes, even a fish dish, which my wife very much appreciated. But as good as the salad bar was, I must be honest, I went there for the meat, which did not disappoint. The picanha was roasted just right, as were all the other meats. I usually don't like lamb, but theirs was better than most. And their chicken wrapped in bacon was not only one of the largest I have ever see, but one of the more flavorful as well.

I think they only serve wine and beer. We had a great red from Brazil. I wish I remembered the name.

I have been to just about every Brazilian BBQ place in L.A., and I would venture to say that this place offers the best bang for the buck. We will definitely be going eating here regularly!

I've been meaning to add a response to my question regarding Sampas grill. I went Friday for dinner. The salad bar covers all the bases with items like salads, potato salad, tuna salad, Beef Stroganoff, ceviche, shrimp sushi rolls, yucca, plantains etc. The items were generally good. The meat was hit and miss I didn't like the seasoning so much. There are about 12 meat items floating around. The one thing I really love at these restaurants is the skirt steak but the one piece I had didn't taste right. Other items were decent.

The service was excellent everyone was attentive. I will go back here again It is a good neighborhood option. Decent but not outstanding.

Oh yeah price is $29.50 per adult under 12 is $17.00 Under 4 is free.

Not off the top of my head, but I think the final check for two people (including a glass of wine, a diet Brazilian soda, and dessert) came out to $75 or something. Sorry I couldn't be morre specific.
