Opinions on SW Steakhouse

My Honey and I am off to Vegas in two weeks, and I have been procrastinating on picking a steak restaurant. We are staying at the Wynn, and were thinking about staying close to home and going to SW, but I have been seeing mixed reviews. Has anyone been there recently?

  1. Absolutely go. Great steak and sides with a nice vibe and good service. Prices are very high but not really any more than other steak houses in the same class. Enjoy and report back.

Does SW overlook the little pond with the waterfall and light show? We had dinner at DB Brasserie last Saturday. If you go early enough to avoid the light show, it is nice, but once the show began, we wanted to run away.

I will never suffer through something like that at the Wynn again.

    2. Personally, I think Craftsteak and Stripsteak blow SW out of the water but that's just me. I'm into steakhouses that are a little different. SW is good but not worth picking over a short cab ride to the MGM or Mandalay Bay, IMO.

We went to Craftsteak (amazing) last year. Since we normally stay at the Four Seasons we wanted to try to stay on the other side of the strip this time. Next year we will be back at fourseasons and be eating at stripsteak for sure.

      2. We were there in Feb and enjoyed it very much. Good steak, good service, lousy configuration. I can't compare it to other steakhouses in Vegas, though. Here's my detailed report about it, with photos. I wish we'd tried Country Club at the Wynn just because it seemed like a lovely, serene setting.
