There were two different duck dishes on the menu - one was a daily special, but I forget what they were. Anyway, I got one, and Mr. Tastebud got the other. Both were excellent. So my opinion, based on two dishes, is that the food at Barbette is still solid. If the location of Barbette is not paramount, I might also think about Cafe Levain. I had a meal there 3 weeks ago that was at least the equal of Barbette's and that may have been a tad cheaper. Warm and cozy and lively but not too noisy. And it feels very French to me. We were actually at Barbette that night to mourn the fact that my parents were in Paris but we weren't. Barbette is enough like a low-key but charming Parisian bistro that we were greatly comforted. (Not 100%, of course, but the great duck dishes helped, too.)
