I'm waxing nostalgic for a good old British weekend lunch of Roast Beef, Yorkie Pudding, roast potato and assorted overboiled veggies.

Me thinks the key to this meal is the gravy (rich) and the Yorkshire pudding (puffy yet meaty).

I know of several pubs who offer this fare... (I claim this to be British, but Irish pubs have inculcated this meal into their own culture). Politics aside, I'm seeking advice on whomever does this best in the area?

Lawry's The Prime Rib on restaurant row (La Cienega) does this as their specialty. Also owned by them (and the oldest privately owned restaurant in Los Angeles) is the Tam O'Shanter on the south side of Los Feliz Blvd. about five blocks east of the 5 Fwy., across the street from the new Costco. The Tam's Yorkshire pud isn't nearly as good, though. They make it in a muffin cup and it's crispy, but hardly meaty. They also own Lawry's in Las vegas and the Five Crowns near Del Mar.
