Orlando Indian Restaurant

I'll be in Orlando in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions for an Indian restaurant on I-Dr, between Sand Lakes Rd and the Convention Center?

The two best Indians on this side of town, IMHO, are Memories of India, described below, and Aashirwad, on the corner of Kirkman Road and International Drive.

Still agree with you after all this time. Memories of India and Aashirwad are both excellent.

We recently tried Ahmed's on Orange Blossom Trail, on an Indian friend's recommendation. Excellent chicken tikki masala -- my husband even ordered an extra container of sauce to take home!

I went to New Punjab Indian Restaurant (7541 International Drive) last weekend and it was excellent. The appetizer sampler was great and the chutneys were good as well. Note - it is behind a $1.99 Gift Store so it is a bit hidden.

New Punjab is very good. We had a wonderful time there both in service and food.

I was in Orlando 2 months ago and Memories of India was really really excellent. The naan was superb and my chicken tikka masala fantastic and plentiful (some places give just a tiny serving of chix and sauce - not here). Tasty papadam, chutney and a tall Kingfisher kept me happy while waiting for entree.

I've never been so I can't vouch for it, but I've heard good things about Memories of India, which is near both: http://www.orlandoweekly.com/dining/r...
