Suggestions for Casual French Quarter Creole

My boyfriend and I will be driving straight from San Antonio to New Orleans. I imagine that by the time we get into town we will be a little weary from the trek. I was looking for some good causual, true New Orleanean restaurant suggestions in the French Quarter, preferably on the cheaper side. It will be his first time in the city and I'm just thrilled to be returning!

Thank you so much in advance for any suggestions!

  1. Coop's Place. Or you could try Remoulade, if you stick with the New Orleans stuff on the meun (not the nachos or pizza, for example).

    1. I second Coop' is often my first visit when I hit town. Casual and cheap it is with high quality for the $. However, keep in mind it is NOT Creole (not sure from the title of the post if you are only looking for Creole), the bulk of the menu is Cajun.

As far as reqs go, the Jambalya Supreme and Chicken Tchoupitoulus are probably my favorites. Whatever you eat, wash it down with an icy Abita Amber and you'll be good to go. Enjoy.
