Last Supper
Taken out of the context of the restaurant, forgetting the service, the company, or anything else for that matter, but food-wise alone, what is the meal you remember as the best food that you ever ate in Los Angeles? In other words, if alone in a prison cell, night before execution, and given one phone call to arrange delivery from any restaurant you choose, what would it be?

The Water Grill, sublime and that's where I'm eating my birthday lunch tomorrow.

The first time I went to Europe, my (now) husband and I traveled widely. We met up with his mom in Champagne where she treated us to a stay at Boyer Les Crayeres, which still holds the record as best meal-hotel.
When we arrived, we asked for a snack because we missed lunch on the train from Paris. (This was not stricly true because I had a very ripe camembert that we ate with a pocket knife but the hotel staff seemed to believe us.)
They proceeded to bring out two bottles of champange (for three people)and a selection of three sandwiches; house cured smoked salmon, rare roast beef, and the best, the BEST goose foie gras terrine I had ever had anywhere. There was also a little salad with very fresh greens.
The salmon was very delicate, sliced very thinly on pan de mie, the roast beef was a boule with meat juices, and the foie gras was in big fat slices on toast.
Sublime.
