Black Radish..what to do with it?

I saw black radishes in the supermarket and became very nostalgic for Mom's. I know she mixed it with onions sauted in schmaltz...anyone know proportions?

    I don't the proportions, but the grated radish with shmaltz brings back delicious memories.

    my wife will not allow shmaltz in the house

        I mix it with olive oil, much healthier

          Please be specific. I also remember them from my youth, but I have no idea what my grandmother did with them. Radishes of all sorts are like the invisible vegetable. I feel like I am the only one I know who puts them in salads (cheese, egg, garden).

            no big chochma. you peel the black radish, grate it, add olive oil or shmaltz and salt and pepper to taste and eat

              I checked into it and it seems my grandmother and grandfather used to peel them and eat them raw with gefilte fish or chicken soup. Interesting.
