Good Houseware Stores (good deals)

Does anyone know any good houseware stores that sell bakeware at good prices? I usually go to Caynes, which is pretty good, but they do not have all the selection of pans I would like. Suprisingly, I can't even find a decent icecream scoop with the spring anywhere. I got an oxo 1/4 scoop at Zellers, but I really need a 2 tbsp scoop.

have you checked kitchen stuff plus? they're a little more expensive than tap phong but it's real brand names, and good ones. usually 15-50% off retail stores, and i saw a few ice cream scoops with a trigger there yesterday-- ranging from around $5-15 (the one on yonge/bloor)

I also think Kitchen Stuff Plus is a good place to shop and if you have a car I would suggest the store on Orfus Road...it's very big....well organised and has easy parking.
It is on the north side of Orfus just west of Dufferin, you can easily pass by the sign so keep your eyes open after you pass the big school on that side of the street.

really? I went to a kitchen stuff plus on yonge and highway 7 (i think) and the stuff there was really bad. maybe I should check this one out..

I agree. I used to live near the yonge and highway 7 one and it had terrible selection. Never been to the one on Orfus though.

Although not the tops for quality, I've found some real houseware bargains at Honest Ed's. I got my friend a small salton ricecooker and a mortar and pestel set for 25 bucks total.

I second Tap Phong, one of the best stores in the city, full of gems!

Check out Tap Phong in Chinatown. The place is huge and rather disorganized, but you can find just about anything there if you have the patience! Prices are great.

Check out Nella on Queen East. They cater to GB students and their prices are decent. You would probably find what you are looking for at Nella (not related) at Bloor and Bathurst, but they are not cheap.
Surprisingly, once when I was having trouble finding baking supplies I needed at any of the bigger stores, I lucked out at the little kitchen store on Bayview, just south of Eglinton on the east side. Can't remember the name, but you'd notice it.
