Hand made tortillas

Anyone know where I can find authentic hand made tortillas in the Bay Area?

I'm not a Primavera fan. I don't recognize them as a tortilla. They are at various farmers markets though.

Where are you looking to buy them. From your name I'm guessing Marin which I don't have a good feel for tortilla-wise. However, Rancho Gordo that sells at the Sunday Marin Farmers market makes a very good tortilla.

My favorite tortilla in the Bay Area remains La Boriquena in downtown Oakland Much better than La Palma's. It is the corny gold-standard, IMO. Get some chips while there too.

Does La Boriquena sell masa for tortillas?

Don't know. I've never seen it but they are very nice so you can call and ask if they sell their own.

La Perla in South San Francisco makes their own tortillas. They sell them to go for $3.00 per dozen.

Primavera, with a stand at the Saturday Ferry Building Farmer's Market (in the back on the south side), sells amazing small and medium handmade tortillas. They're so great that my mom request I bring her a cooler full of them when I traveled home a few weeks ago.

Yes, I too LOVE primavera but they are expensive. Las Palmas is more old school and Primavera is high end. I fI have a large crowd to feed it is definitely Las Palmas.

Primavera's tortillas are very thick. Might not sit well with everyone.

Are you looking for restaurants that serve them, or a place to purchase them to take home?
