mcdonalds ice coffee
dont kill me on this but the regular ice coffee at mcdonalds is prety good! i havent tried their flavored ones, but i got hooked on their regular iced coffee......
You know what? I agree--it's OK on a hot day when I need a jolt. I tend to buy it on the road, where a lot of McDonald's restaurants have wireless Internet, and the first time I got it I was surprised that it wasn't ridiculously sweet.
I agree. I think it's good coffee and at least in Massachusetts, it's a little cheaper than Dunkin. I don't like sweet coffee and I've never had a problem getting it the way I want it at McD's.
I'll fourth this. I like their unsweetened IC a lot. The flavored ones are too sweet.
My ideal iced coffee is a giant one from Au Bon Pain in Harvard Square, drunk at one of the outside tables, but since I live in Virginia that isn't happening.
We have a few DDs down here so I do have that option too (although the one closest to my office suddenly vanished a few weeks ago. Grrr.
Our McDonalds (in at least the Raleigh, NC) area had free Iced Coffees today. Since it was free, I thought I would try the sugar-free-vanilla iced coffee. It was fantastic. No yucky sugar-free taste to it. Perfectly blended and creamy.
My mom and I had this discussion day before yesterday... the McDonalds in N.C. are very uneven in their ability to serve the speciality coffees. Some McD's knock it out of the ballpark and rival good ol' Starbucks, but others have just been plain gross. Too much sweetener / not really knowing the product itself / etc. So, if you have a bad coffee-drink at one McD's ... try another one ... you may be surprised.
I normally don't drink coffee. But last year I pulled an all-nighter and found myself exhausted at work. During lunch (there was really nothing around me), I stopped in for a McDonalds iced coffee. I also thought it wasn't bad, much better than Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. Not sure if I liked it so much because I hardly drink coffee or because I needed that caffeine jolt. But I do think it can give Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts a run for their money.
