Chocolate Mousse - to go - where in LA?
Okay, I did a search and I noticed someone recently posed this query for the Westside.
But I am based in Studio City...
I am looking for a super fantastic chocolate mousse -- single serving -- preferably from a bakery rather than at a restaurant, but I am open to all recs.
Anywhere from mid-East Valley to WeHo to Bev Hills -- anywhere within a moderate radius, but forget the Westside unless you deem it worth the trip (!)
I'm talking rich, fluffy, decadent chocolate mousse rather than chocolate mousse layer cake... The kind I had in Paris & Cannes...
Please help to make my birthday memorable!!
thanx 'houndz

re: sokoloff
^ while it's useful to learn about this company, it doesn't serve my immediate purposes whatsoever.
I really just want *one* individual serve of chocolate mousse.
Just a simple birthday treat for me.
The minimum you can have shipped to you from that co are nine individual servings...

You can try a "Mini Mouse" @ Le Pain Quotidien there is one in Studio City.
It is Chocolate mousse, W/ a small layer of White Chocolate, Covered with Chocolate. They also have a Large Chocolate mousse, that is only chocolate.Good Luck

It's not really a special birthday kind of place, but BOWERY, on Sunset just east of Vine, right next to MAGNOLIA, has the best chocolate Mousse I have had in LA. It is incredible.

Sort of in between your request for a chocolate mousse itself and a chocolate mousse layer cake is the dirt cake at Vanilla Bake Shop, which is unfortunately out of your requested radius. Per the description on their website:
"Each jar of Dirt Cake is layered with bittersweet Callebaut chocolate mousse,
crushed dark chocolate crumbles and sweetened fresh whip cream blended
with crushed Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans."For my birthday last year, my friend brought me the most darling assortment of mini cupcakes and dessert shots from Vanilla Bake Shop, and one of the shots was the dirt cake. It was excellent - not too much of the cake part - picture of the utter cuteness attached. Sorry it doesn't precisely fit your request, but it was the closest thing of which I could think.
