McCormick & Schmick's

I have a $75 gift certificate for McCormick and Schmick's that I will be using on Saturday. Any favorites? Are the desserts worth ordering? Anything to stay away from? Thanks!

  1. A $75 gift certificate is enough to have their very tasty hamburger 15 times at happy hour...

You do have to tip... at least if you want the 14 last times to go at all well for you. :)

Some how my order of a Burger and Oyster Shooters always come out to $30 with drinks, tax and tip!! But I am happy..

    1. I had some muddy catfish once. You'd think they'd be able to source that properly.

Order off the fresh catch list.

If they still have a very dense chocolate cake, that was worth ordering. We got it free for a birthday lunch a few years ago and still remember it.

      1. Don't remember what it's called but it's seafood/shellfish in a saffron broth.

        And drinks

I'm a big fan on McCormick's, I would consider the following:

          Shrimp and Crab Dip
Miso Black Cod - not Nobu quality, but very good for the price
          Cashew Tilapia
          Parmesan Sole
          Wasabi Halibut
Go with the Upside Down Walnut Apple Pie for desert

        2. Here in Austin the menu changes twice daily to reflect what fresh fish has come in, so the menu changes often. I have eaten there 5 or 6 times and only been disappointed once. And if none of the recipes suit your fancy they will be glad to prepare the fresh fish in another way, which means you can have whatever fish you want just grilled if you prefer.
          I am a big fan ...

          1. OMG..
McCormick's is sending me $100 in gift certificates..their customer service department is first class and wish more corporate companies would follow suit!
I had no idea they had bar food that cheap..
Do you know if they have the $1.95 bar menu at the San Diego location in the Omni Hotel?
Let us know what you had dinami and have a great time!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I had their salmon BLT which was decent (Their fries were nothing special though) and I did take the advice of having the upside down walnut apple pie for dessert and it was divine!! Worth ALL the calories! :)
