Friday....

And what else to do on Friday then Galatoire's for Lunch. My first time here. What an experience! It was a blast! We showed up to wait in line around 10:15 am. The regulars hire people to wait in line so a few of them were already a head of us. We made it in for the first seating and headed up for a cocktail. Had a brandy milk punch (forced on me by a couple of regulars. Not bad but heavy!) Headed down to our table and left our ordering in the hands of John our waiter. I had been told to request him and he sure did take care of us. He brought us all the stables- the oysters en brochette and other apps. I got the soft-shell crab and it was the best soft-shell crab I have ever had. My companions had some fish (my wifes not all that inspiring), some grilled some fried. I clearly had the best entree and enjoyed my lunch more than others. The vegetables were bland, seemed like it had "Knorr" packeted hollendaise poured on it. But the dining room was electric!!! This was such a great experience and we loved it. Don't go for the food but rather the experience and the history.

Evening we took a break from eating and had cocktails at Arnaud's "French 75" What a treat! Chris is a fantastic bartender and he introduced me to cocktails I have never had before. I loved the "curari cocktail" and then the "corpse reviver 2" and then the Aviation, and then eventually bed...

Day 3 tomorrow...

Maybe something you drank affected your taste????? Galatoire's hollandaise is excellent.
