Too bad Kyo-Ya's not on the list. I went there twice for lunch during the last DAT. The butterfish was fabulous.

looks like one of my DAT stops will be Bushi -Tei. Any recent reports? most of the reviews on Chow are over 1 year old.

I would avoid Bushi-Tei; I went there two years ago and then a few months ago -- definite down-hill slide (they got a Michelin star their first year and lost it in their second).

They might be putting their best foot forward for DAT and to reclaim business, but I think there are much better places to eat in the city.

I'm definitely going to try 1550 Hyde, as per rworange's recommendation... already made my reservation and everything. Thinking about Lark Creek Steak, but mostly b/c my husband's an avid meat & potatoes kinda guy, so I think he'd enjoy it.

Just looking at the list preliminarily, I would go to Aziza and Les Amis again for their great food, great service and biggest bang-for-the-buck. In addition to those, I might want to try Cortez. Where's everyone else going? Anything else that's a good deal??

My friend and I went to Sens last time and had a wonderful meal, however, now that Shuna's gone, I doubt if we'll go back. The food was good enough, but the dessert, OMG, the desserts were fabulous!

Yes, for the moment she's just teaching classes and consulting for two W. Oakland restaurants, MōNO and Brown Sugar Kitchen. I'm taking a class with her this Saturday.

Aziza's defintely one of the best deals and I had a wonderful experience there in January myself.

Did anyone try Lark Creek, Sens, Sauce or supperclub during the last DAT?

I said that I tried Sens. I think I even wrote a mini report on it somewhere on this board.

There were a couple of very positive reports on Sens for lunch -- not sure about dinner. Okay, here's a dinner report from rworange: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/47017...

Note, however, that I don't think there have been any reports since the most recent round of staff changes (in particular the departure of pastry chef Shuna Lydon).

If you do a search on the restaurant name plus "DAT" you'll find more reports.

A couple of places I'd be interested in:

                  The Cosmopolitan
                  Cortez
                  Les Amis
