Sushi in Lower Michigan
I am from East Lansing where we have SanSu as a great sushi place. But coming up in May, me and my friends have a senior prom where we are looking to go anywhere from Grand Rapids, Novi, Ann Arbor, or Detroit.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to where we can find the "best" sushi possible?
Cost isn't really a concern.

In Ann Arbor you could also try Yotsuba near the Washtenaw exit off U.S. 23. Pricey, but very sharp place with good sushi--good destination place. People disagree about sushi, but most people in Washtenaw put it at the top of their lists.
Another place that gets good reviews is Akasaka in Livonia, but I haven't been there, either.

Noble Fish is great but has very little seating, has limited hours, and is not really suitable for a prom-type event. I'm still waiting for a real knockout sushi place in SE Michigan, but for your purposes I think you would enjoy Cherry Blossom, on Novi Rd. north of I-96 in Novi. They can handle large groups, they have excellent sushi, and you can try out other kinds of Japanese food like yakitori (skewer dishes).
Has anyone been to Musashi in Southfield? I've never tried it, but some people speak highly of that place.
