Hana Sushi -- GREAT! ! (West LA)

Have been about 10 times now in the past month.... My new favorite. Each time I go, Nishi makes me 3-4 preparations not on the menu according to my taste preferences, which he always remembers perfectly. Have never had the same thing twice, and all have been spectacular! Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, never too crowded, and not a scene -- though have met some nice new friends there.... Great sushi. (Nishi's off every Wed and Thurs.) Enjoy!!! (On Wilshire between Barrington and Bundy.)

  1. Sounds great. Can you tell us what the price range is? Do they just serve sushi?

    1. Just a bit of LA trivia. Hana Sushi is owned by Bob Stiles who in 1965 played football for UCLA. That was the year that UCLA upset 10-0 Michigan State 14-12 in the Jan. 1, 1966 game. Bob Stiles was one of the hero's of that game when, along with Jim Colletto, they stopped the 220 lb. MSU running back, Big Bob Apisa, inches from the goal line on MSU's 2 point conversion attempt to tie the game after scoring a late touch down. Bob weighed all of 170 lbs. soaking wet, and yet he hit Apisa, (who Coletto had slowed down) and stopped him cold. One of the great days in UCLA and LA football history.

Ps. we like it too, although it used to be a bit on the expensive side...but with Sushi Mori, et al. it's not so bad anymore.
