North Reading poultry farm/eggs

A big recommendation for the eggs at 7-Acre Poultry Farm (the Concord Rd exit from Rt 93, head east for 1 mile; open till 6pm, closed Mondays). The choices are usually large, ex-large, and jumbo. As I recall, jumbo are $2.25/doz. These eggs have deep goldenrod-colored yolks, and so much more flavor than supermarket eggs. Payment is on the honor system, so you need to have some small bills and change. They also have chicken, turkey, pot-pies, and saugage. On the rare occasions when they have them, the breaded chicken breast cutlets are wonderful. The eggshells are sturdier than supermarket eggs', and require more effort to crack. The eggs are on the counter, not refrigerated. This should not concern you - fresh from the hen, eggs have a natural, non-visible protective coating which is washed off when supermarket eggs are processed.

2nd. It's a great place. We got our eggs and most of our poultry there growing up, wish they had a distributor in town. The pot pies are great too.
