best sushi restaurant in sf?

My vote goes to Zushi Puzzle on Lombard. It is vital that you sit at the bar and put yourself in Roger's hands.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions- we are from Seattle and my parents used to own a sushi bar there so we have high expectations.... we haven't found any local places that meet it.

Which places have you been to, so far ?

Sebo is the only place we've been in town that can keep up with the best sushi in other cities (we have _not_ though been to Kiss or Ino). Sebo is a wonderful time with excellent sushi. Show up right as they open at 6pm and grab seats at the small bar.

Also, to be sure, the one night you'll be in town isn't a Monday night, right?

That's true, lots of Sushi places are closed on Mondays.

FYI... unless you are really desperate for Sushi... I don't think SF is the place for Sushi if you just have one night.

I would have to concur with Eat_Nopal's post above, depending on where the OP resides. If it is NYC, LA or Vancouver - no point.

Sebo on Hayes St is my fave although the others listed (Kiss and Ino) would also be in my top 3. They are all quite different.

In fact, to me, they are the top 3 in SF. Fourth being Murasaki.

Can't figure this out...Murasaki seems to always be highly rated on the boards but the place is always empty when I go by it.

Kiss is pretty small, so I would say Sebo on Hayes would be comparable choice. But Sebo is a tad more expensive.
