Mme Zoe and I are attending a dog show (Chow Chow Nationals for 2008) about 40 miles west of Milwaukee and we are staying in town for a couple of days to see the sights - need some recommendations please for really great German food. Thanks in advance (Devil Chow and His Missus as they are known on the LA Board will not be at the Dog Show)!

Mader's and Karl Rausch's are the classic standard bearers.

If you go to Maders, then you'll be close to the Spice House and Usingers Sausage, which are fantastic places to visit.

Try the Gasthaus in Waukesha, just off of I-94. It doesn't have the history as the other two suggestions but IMO the food is as good, if not better. Should take you less than 15 minutes from where you are staying the Olympia Resort.

Plenty of reviews online as well.

      FYI,
      Dave
