20-person Birthday dinner in SF for $20-30/pp?

I am planning to throw my boyfriend a surprise 30th birthday party next month and have been looking around at places in SF that can accommodate larger parties. But it would be nice to know of more options for the kind of food he likes (in order of preference):

Asian: Korean, chinese, Vietnamese, Thai
Mexican: tacqueria-type food
American

I have been looking at places in the Richmond and Mission districts, mostly. Any other ideas?
Thanks a ton!!

PPQ - crabs and Vietnamese on Clement has an upstairs room that easily takes 20 people...I think the max is 100. You could probably hide out upstairs. The good thing about this room is there's enough room to get up and move around. The crab and garlic noodles get the props.

I went to Khan Toke on Geary for a big group birthday dinner, and we all had a great time!

I had a large group dinner at Taste of Formosa. You can make a reservation and the upstairs area is good for large groups. Not private, but it's a large room. When we went the food was great and the staff took really good care of us. We perhaps overstayed our welcome and heard nary a word. We only realized we had kept them late until we were leaving. I recommedn the green onion pancake and the three cup chicken. I can't remember what else we ordered, but with freely flowing beer and more food than we could conceive of eating we got out of there for about $20 per person.

Puerto Allegre in the Mission is always a festive spot for a party and can handle that size crowd. Food is good (not great), margaritas are tasty and it fits your price range.

Chinese restaurants are set up to do this. You could do two tables of ten and have a choice of banquet menus in your price range. Kirin and Mayflower are a couple I'd look into.

Chinese would be your best best...two banquet tables would do it. Check out Geary St places.
