Edmonton Pizza

Anybody have any good recommendations for good take out pizza on the south side of Edmonton?

I can throw in another vote for Ragazzi...tried the Calabrese pizza tonight and it was delicious. I think my personal preference at the moment is still Famoso though. By offering slightly smaller and lighter-topped pizzas at a lower price it makes more sense for 2 people to each get an individual pizza and be able to mix & match & share, which I like.

Pizza Boys/Ragazzi near Bonnie Doon for thin crust NY style, and Royal Pizza in Old Strathcona for Greek-style cheesy grease wheel. I live in Vancouver now, and miss those two places dearly.

Pharos is good too, it's true.

Sounds like the pizza at Sunrise on Commercial Dr. If you haven't yet indulged, try the greasy wheel there cndprairiedog...it may alleviate your homesickness.

Thanks for the tip - I've found Olympia on Broadway to be to my liking for a Greek-style pizza, and close to home.
I've heard the hard water in Edmonton makes for better pizza crust.
Dang, I think I could go for one now...

A friend of mine used to swear by, Rose Bowl pizza (10111 117 Street).

Is Rose Bowl still open?? I haven't been there since I moved to Calgary years ago. They had awesome pizza back in the day. The sauce was unreal.

Capital Pizza was also very good (in Londonderry area)

I went online to see their website and it's all Flash with some lounge name. Rouge lounge. It was interesting, I guess ??

Rosebowl was attached to it but the pizza menu was still under construction

Friends of mine swear by Roadrunner Pizza over by the Miseracordia. Seems reasonably priced and with no shortage of toppings. Kind of a deep dish pizza crust but it's yummy enough that I eat all my crusts (not always the case).

One of my favorites in the west end is Victoria Pizza (on 10132 156 St). Some say it is similar to Rose Bowl, but I think VP is better. I haven't been there recently as I have moved to Calgary, but I had noticed that the signs had changed - not sure if there is new ownership or not.

oohh YES! I've had that pizza. Yummy!

Has anyone had the pizza at Parkallen restaurant? I've had their lebanese, which was good, just not the pizza :)

yes I have, and friends had raved about it. I did not find it that great, on par with Royal (cheesy, thick crust), but at about 2x the cost. I will try Victoria & the others mentioned very soon!

Thanks Cleo. Although I like Royal. It's not WOW to me.

have to consider that we ordered delivery. eating it at the restaurant is probably much better.

I think that the pizza at Parkallan is the best in the city... I used to live right around the corner from there, and made it a weekly ritual to go and have some pizza... Their lebanese is fantastic too, and what a wine list for such a little place.

For thin crust, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, I love Tony's in the North East, fantastic pizza, great atmosphere.

Thanks for all the other ideas though, I'm going to have to check out Victoria Pizza and Ragazzi.

Millhurst Pizza in Millwoods. I find them tasty. (Whatever you do. if someone is thinking about ordering off the non-pizza menu, do not get the BBQ chicken with garlic bread....BAD!!)

Pharos - great whole wheat crust, tonnes of cheese :)
