Which Mexican in New Rochelle Tonight?

A couple of months ago we went to a Mexican restaurant in New Rochelle because of good Chowhound recommendations and it was very good. Now, we can't for the life of us remember the name, which makes it hard to find.

It's on Rte. 1, seemed very authentic and most of the other customers seemed Latin American. They made guacamole tableside. It had lost its liquor license, apparently for serving people underage.

A little searching here and a little googling makes me think it might be Little Mexican Cafe, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

    1. We just ate at The Little Mexican Cafe a couple of weeks ago, and they definitely had a liquor license. Maybe they got it back. They made the guac table-side and it was a very Mexican clientele -- our waitress spoke little English. However, there is also the Mexican Corner restaurant, which might be it if you remember that it was on a corner! It was right down the block. We haven't eaten there, though.

        1. it probably was little mexican cafe.
Mexican Corner is also very good with excellent mole, but doesn't have tableside guacomole.
Herradura- between the other two on main street is also good with a free mariachi band most thursday nights.
For something a little different try Talaquepaque( sorry for the spelling) it is great , with an exuberant host and food from a different region of mexico ( it is on north avenue, west of the train station and the entrance for I95, there is a tiny public parking lot next door)
new rochelle has many typical mexican restaurants.. most of which are quite good...
          enjoy

great reminder about tlaquepaque... I remember Pat Hammond talking about it a long time ago and I've never been. Shame on me!

Tlaquepaque is a city in Jalisco (just looked it up in wikipedia)... I wonder what regional dishes they serve? What did you enjoy when you went?
