Trying to decide where too eat a good meal that won't break the bank after seeing Jersey Boys, it's a saturday afternoon show. Northern Italian, French, Cuban, Seafood
almost anything goes.I love all kinds of foods, I have been to Paris 6 times, so French is at the top of my list, but I also have been to Spain and Portugal and love that food too, Then there is always the good old steak, veal chop or rack of lamb. A few places I have been to are Marseille, The Trattoria Trcolori, before it moved, Julian's and Rene Pujol, before they closed. Any suggestions would be great, there will be 6 of us.About the only type of resataurants I won't want to try are Chinese, Southern Italian and Mexican. Thanks Hounds!!!
If you liked Trecolori in its old location, then you're bound to love it in its more spacious, attractive and comfortable setting (0n 47th, b/t B'way & 8th), especially since the food is better than ever!
dbBistro Moderne, on 44th, b/t 5th & 6th, is 4-star chef Daniel Boulud's take on contemporary French bistro cuisine. Needless to say, the food's first-rate.
West Bank Cafe, on 42nd, b/t 9th & 10th, serves delicious New American cuisine. Friendly, capable service and very pleasing atmospherics.
Closer to Penn Station, there's Keens, which has been in its 36th St. location since 1885. Thus, in addition to great steaks, chops, etc., and excellent service, there is the unmatchable Old NY ambiance.
I know you will love "Jersey Boys." Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
