I have yet to dine at the Harrison since Chef Amanda Frietag took over. I think she is an excellent chef.

I ate at Lavagna when she was there, Gusto and that other place on the UWS (forgot the name!).

How is she doing at the Harrison....any comments?

I'm not sure when Amanda took over, but I went to the Harrison in Feb. and loved it. I thought the main dishes were perfectly cooked. Only thing I would skip is dessert. The cakes were dry.

Amanda took over the end of Jan. She's revamped the menu into what's now a destination restaurant. Check it out.

I went this past weekend and it was really good. Nice bar atmosphere as well.

We went in March and it was pretty good. I remember we had the beet salad with pistachios and robiolina app, my SO had the slow cooked arctic char with pink grapefruit, black trumpets and salsify. His entree was delicious and memorable. I don't even remember the other app or my entree. Service was adequate. I think we got a server who didn't care, did the bare minimum.

We ate there last night. Live in the 'hood and used to go weekly 'til quality went down & fav bartender left. She's ramped the spot back up. Artichoke hearts were fantastic, tuna app very clean and nice. Went for the signature chicken crispy, salty, nice and steak was beautifully done with a crispy marrow butter on top. Harrison is back and the new bartender is fantastic also. Harrison has perfect bar dining - nice wide bar, plenty of elbow room, same menu as tables but they also have excellent toasted nuts at the bar.

OMG...you are so right about the nuts. I ate the entire bowl while waiting for my table

DINED THERE SUN. MAY4...BEETS WERE TASTELESS WITH A STRAWLIKE TEXTURE...ARTICHOKES WERE BLAND, RICOTTA HAD A WATERY CONSISTENCY.....WARM OCTOPUS APP. WAS SERVED COLD, AS WAS THE LIVER ENTREE. PERSONALLY I MISS THE OLD HARRISON MENU.
