Sushi in Glendale - Recommendations Needed

Anyone know of any good sushi places in Glendale?
I live on the westside and frequent Kiriko, Zo, and Dokoro. But I'm stuck eating in the Glendale area tonight.
Just eating a low-key dinner w/ my dad, whom I haven't seen in a while. So I definitely don't need a place that's super fancy, but the fish needs to be fresh and tasty. Hole-in-the-wall suggestions are totally welcome (son is buying the old guy dinner tonight).
Really looking forward to having some toro and some live sweet shrimp...if you guys can help me out!

Sushi Nishi-ya fits the bill. Fresh sushi, superbly made and located in a strip mall. Omakase style and based on my appetite prices range from 40 pp - 80 pp.

I wish you luck. The only sushi experience I've had in Glendale was eminently mediocre.

Forget Glendale, go to Mia Sushi in Eagle Rock (minutes from Glendale, right off of Colorado Blvd.) It is exactly what you are looking for, not fancy or expensive, but good Sushi in a fairly pleasurable setting.

Zono Sushi @ Maryland's pretty good low key and good Sake's. Service is pretty good too.

I would skip Zono Sushi. Not very good quality... but then again Glendale doesn't have a ton of sushi options. I would try Aobo (239 N Brand Blvd), they are a Japanese restaurant that also serves sushi. Haven't been there in a while, but from what I remembered their sushi is decent. Better than Zono IMO.
