Captain Jerry's Crabhouse in Laurel

I was just wondering if anybody has tried them out.

I've got some friends passing through the DC area from out of town in the early afternoon (3 or 4-ish), and they wanted to get some crabs. CJ says that they will steam at any time, and the $40 for AYCE seems like a pretty good deal this time of year. Plus, I don't know anybody else that steams all day.

If I can get stall my friends for a couple hours , is there anywhere in the Laurel/BWI area that you all might suggest?

  1. There's Bottom of the Bay in Laurel:

I haven't eaten there in a long time, so I don't know what they're like these days.

There are a couple of little crab/seafood places on Rt. 1 in Beltsville, but I can't recall their names.

I've driven past it I don't know how many times, and I always wondered what kind of food they have.

Looking at the menu and the under $30 AYCE, I think this may be a winner (unless someone pops in here to warn me away before tomorrow afternoon)

    2. Awful awful awful. Never had the crabs but the other food is so unspeakably bad that I can't imagine the crabs would be any good. And the clue is in your e-mail - $40 for all you can eat is an insanely low price. Good crabs these days - heavy, meaty, fresh crabs go for like $65/dozen. I shudder to think about what kind of tiny, awful crabs you would get for that price. There are lots of options for good crabs but not at that price. It isn't in the Laurel/BWI area, but try Cantler's in Annapolis. Lots of people like G&M in Linthicum which is just below BWI but call first - I don't see steamed crabs on the menu. Or go to Canton and go to Bo Brooks.
