I'm racking my mind for options...

Looking for some place to nosh and catch up with a friend in Soho or Tribeca. No more than $28/entree. Would like something not too stuffy....lively but not so loud you can't hear each other.

Help? Thanks!

Giorgione and Giorgione 508 are both fantastic--on Spring/Hudson area, far west soho. Both have trerrific wine by the glass as well. The latter is more casual chic and the former is more sit down but both get loud and festive but are still intimate.

Max in the East Village is great, and I know they now have a Tribeca branch. Haven't been, but if it's on par with it's sibling it's affordable and fun.

I really like Max in tribeca, its a go-to, probably a little less character than the east village version but the food is the same. Somewhat quieter as well, although on certain nights it gets pretty busy.
definitely within your price range.

Pepolino is wonderful. Casual and rustic, but with really nice, attentive service. Not rushed or noisy. The food is Tuscan and very, very good.
