Brix chocolates
Has anyone tried Brix chocolates yet? They are bars of chocolate (milk chocolate, dark chocolate and extra dark chocolate) designed to complement wine. I bought some tonight, but unfortunately, am on call for work and so unable to have wine for the next few nights. I am curious to hear opinions of others who have tried.

Enjoying it right now, in fact. So delicious, med dark with a Barefoot Zinfandel - amazing what a Reidel will do for an inexpensive wine. Anyway the chocolate is excellent with the wine. Excellent on its own too. Brix was a gift so not sure of the sources or prices in the area. Will give as a gift to others in the future- somewhat more imaginative than a bottle of wine for a wine lover. Highly recommended.

How much are you paying for this stuff? I have only seen it in a swanky place in TO, and it was something like $17 per package! I was a little horrified by the price (it wasn't a big bar) and so I decided against buying it. And I am not one that usually balks at the price of chocolate. i wasn't sure if this is really the going price, or if it was crazily overpriced like all the other stuff in this store.

Actually, just tried one last weekend for a party I had. My mom gave it to me and it was the one that said to pair with Zinfandel or Syrah (I think it was dark chocolate but not extra dark). I paired it with a Syrah/Mourvedre blend from Callaghan winery here in AZ. It paired beautifully, and it was a big hit! I put it out on a tray with a parmesan knife and let each person hack off the amount they wanted.

Tried the 'medium' dark with a glass of Dynamite Vineyards Merlot tonight and was pleased! It was much better than another bit of chocolate, strikingly so...interestingly Brix chocolate is the project and product of an MD.
I want to try the milk chocolate with a Chard or such ...
