Schlafly's bottleworks - St. Louis

On recommendations of several chowhounds met companion for lunch at Schlafly's. I really liked it.. Companion had tuna reuben and asparagus. I had beer biscuits and Irish lamb stew. We both enjoyed our food and will return. Thanks so much!

        1. My thanks as well for the recommendation. A group of about 9 of us had dinner at Schlafly's on Saturday. We were taking some time out from a pilgrimage to City Museum.

We had a wonderful time. There was something for everyone from picky to adventurous and even the vegetarian. We ordered the beer bread (dense and sweetish) and the dumplings (spicy). I got the steak frites and could not have been happier. My steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were crisp. There was a po'boy special and I got a bite of it, too. Yum. Sadly we were too full for dessert.

The beers were wonderful. We kept passing them around and tasting each others and we came home with several six packs and a growler.

I also want to note that it was a great place for a mixed group. We were primarily adults in our 30's but we also had a 12 y/o with us and he very much enjoyed the root beer and playing pool in the lounge next door.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience and it left us refreshed and ready to head back into City Museum.

          Thanks again.
