Authentic Taiwanese Food in Anaheim, CA?

lydiainflorida Apr 10, 2008 01:42 PM

Hi all,

I am going to a trade show at the Anahiem convention center in a few weeks and I'll be staying at the Hyatt Regency Orange County (11999 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, CA). Are these any Taiwanese places near by? Are there Chinese grocery stores near by? I will have a rental car but it's shared among all that's going to the show so my access to the car is extremely limited.

No, the closest Taiwanese food would be in Rowland Heights (and there's tons of it there), about 20 miles north of Anaheim. That drive could be do-able depending on your timing since much of the distance can be traversed on the freeway. We had relatives come into town and they wanted to stay in Anaheim so they could go to Disneyland. We arranged to meet them for dinner in Rowland Heights and they made it in about a half hour, though this was on the weekiend.

      That's right.

But I think if you don't want to drive NE to Rowland Heights, another option is to head further south to Irvine, where you can get decent Taiwanese grub at places like A&J and Nice Time Deli.

There are also some places in Cerritos.

No Taiwanese in Anaheim -- but there's a 99 Ranch Chinese market on Euclid St. just north of the 5 freeway, maybe 5 minutes from the convention centre.
